Rich Potterf is the Director of the Building and Grounds Ministry. He is responsible for the training, coordinating and scheduling of the facility staff in order to meet the needs of the congregation members and guests who use the facilities at St. Luke's. He works with other directors of St. Luke's in order to make the facility clean, safe, and ready for their use as scheduled. By using a computerized scheduling system, Rich monitors and controls the heating and cooling of the building for comfort, efficiency, and energy savings. He seeks out volunteers, lay leaders and contractors with talent to build, repair, and install fixtures, structural systems, and electrical work as needed.
Rich came to serve at St. Luke's in 2002 from another large congregation in Indianapolis. He was previously self-employed and served six years in the U.S. Navy as an aircraft survival technician. He was deployed aboard the USS Saratoga in Vietnam and made three cruises to the Mediterranean. He loves to travel, meet new people and participate in overseas missions. Rich is married to Nancy, has one daughter, Abbey, and supports two miniature weiner dogs.
