at
St.
Luke's
Lay leadership has been key to the growth and
culture of St. Luke's during its 50-year history. If you are interested
in committing the talents and time required in these volunteer
leadership position within the church's administration, please

Staff-Parish: This
committee oversees the largest portion of the annual budget at
St. Luke's, providing salaries and benefits to over 50 church
employees. This committee is active in staff evaluations and works
with the church staff to develop future needs and job descriptions.
Members of the Staff-Parish Committee serve for three years.
Board of Trustees: This
group has the responsibility of maintaining the building and grounds
owned by the church. Trustees are elected for three years.
Finance: Members
of the St. Luke's Finance Committee watch over a $2,400,000 annual
budget, helping to ensure that church funds are spent wisely and
with adequate controls. This committee meets monthly to
review financial progress and make recommendations to the Staff-Parish
Committee and Trustees on setting their budgets. Membership on
the Finance Committee is for a three-year term and is open to
any member of St. Luke's.
Endowment: St.
Luke's Endowment was formed in 1989 to support the mission of
the church today and into the future. The Endowment Fund receives
outright gifts and bequests made to the church and holds them in perpetuity. They are professionally invested, with a percentage of the fund value used annually for St. Luke's capital improvements and benevolences. St. Luke's Finance committee oversees the investment strategy, the Leadership Cabinet determines the fund distribution, while the Endowment Committee guides the marketing, educational, and fundraising efforts. Stewardship Commission:
This group has the responsibility of providing information and
educational material to the church family about the financial
and volunteer needs required to support the mission and
programs of St. Luke's. This active committee holds an annual
ministry fair which provides an opportunity to learn about and
sign up for the many ministries offered by St. Luke's; it also
oversees the annual financial stewardship campaign.
Church Council:
This governing body of the church is comprised of the lay chairs
of each committee/commission at St. Luke's and the members of
the Clergy staff. In addition to approving the annual budget and
electing officers, this group helps provide the vision for the
future direction of the church through the use of congregational
surveys, planning retreats and quarterly informational meetings.
Election to the Church Council takes place each June.
