Race for the Cure (+ Dinner details)
Saturday, April 19
Last year the Komen Indianapolis Race for the Cure attracted nearly 40,000 participants and raised over $2.3 million dollars to be used locally for education, research, screening and treatment, and nationally to fund breast cancer research. Please join our team at St. Luke’s and help with this noteworthy cause.
This 5k run/walk and 1 mile family walk assembles on the IUPUI Library Lawn, or you can also register to Sleep for the Cure. Please visit komenindy.org and choose to register as a TEAM. A list of teams will appear, and you can click on St. Luke’s United Methodist Women with Abby Williams as the Captain. Team registration will close on March 21, so please sign up before this date. As soon as online registration closes, you will receive information from Abby Williams regarding packet pick-up, additional t-shirts, etc.
St. Luke’s United Methodist Women will also sponsor a family friendly Carbo-Load Dinner the night before the race on Friday, April 18 from 5:30-7:00 in Fellowship Hall. The dinner will feature a speaker from Komen Indy at 6:00 p.m. Please RSVP for the dinner to Abby Williams at abwilliams4466@sbcglobal.net by Sunday, April 12.
