Endowment

alt text

In 1989, St. Luke's endowment Committee established a perpetual fund to provide for the church's ongoing financial needs. By using a small portion of the fund value annually, we can ensure that St. Luke's will be able to minister to the needs of the church today and in the future, thus fulfilling our vision of being transformed by God and transforming the world into a compassionate, just, inclusive, Christ-like community.

Because of the visionary gifts of many committed St. Luke's members, our endowment fund currently stands at just over $3 million. Distributions from the  Endowment for 2010 totaled $112,000 to help support some wonderful missions and ministries of the Church. The revenue provided annually from this fund makes many programs and dreams possible. We encourage everyone to become a visionary leader by remembering St. Luke's through a gift from your estate to the Endowment. We thank god for those visionary leaders who remembered these ministries in their estate planning, and hope everyone will consider how they can leave a legacy which continues their values and gives life to those who come after us.

In virtually all charitable contributions there are tax advantages to be considered. Your own attorney, bank trust officer or financial advisor can assist you in selecting the most advantageous way to make gifts to St. Luke's Endowment. Gifts can be any size; all gifts no matter the amount or form are honored and appreciated.

Scholarship Fund

In 2006, the Christian Life Scholarship Fund was established by Ken and Linda Young – long-time members of St. Luke’s who had the desire to help build a better tomorrow. Establishing this endowed fund enabled them to leverage their gift by providing scholarship support in perpetuity to St. Luke’s youth on an annual basis.

Each year, the Endowment provides scholarship support to two or three youth members who have demonstrated a passion for their faith and their willingness to help make a difference in the lives of others. In 2011, the Christian Life Scholarship Fund’s earning investment was able to provide $1,500 in scholarship support to two recipients, Maya Robinson and Mark Satterly, who were recognized for their accomplishments and acknowledged for their desire to further their education. The endowed Christian Life Scholarship Fund not only provides financial support for college, but also recognizes our youth’s achievements and acknowledges their good faith and acts of philanthropy.  The fund exists in perpetuity, enabling the designation of scholarship support for years to come.
