Volunteer Opportunities

This is an opportunity for someone who is single or married to be a part of a dynamic outreach team with St. Luke’s Singles Ministry. We're looking for an enthusiastic  individual with great interpersonal skills who loves to reach out to others and get people involved in areas of passion and interest.

Later @ St. Luke’s multicultural service is seeking individuals who have a passion for Hispanic ministry.  Those who are bilingual in English and Spanish or would be interested in helping build this ministry should contact Dr. Marion Miller.

St. Luke’s Construction Ministry/SAWS has been a very successful mission that provides wheelchair ramps for disabled people.   In addition to utilizing volunteer talents to build the ramps, we need assistance in the administrative process, such as computer entry and calling applicants to gain information about their need.  Contact Paul Snyder at 695-0585.   
 

If you are in need of getting your baby fix or like to rock little ones, then become a caregiver!  Caregivers serve our littlest members at 8:15, 9:30 & 11AM one Sunday a month.  Contact thetrack@stlukesumc.com if you are interested.

The Fox Hill Elementary School/St. Luke's Partnership continues to recruit volunteers and leaders to help. Needed:  in-class tutoring (practically any time during any school day, tutoring in the After School Achievers program (2:30-6PM ,M-Th), and we have a new emphasis on providing mentors (the main need is for men) to have lunch with kids who don't often experience conversing with adults during meal time.   Contact Tom Lange (tom.c.lange@gmail.com or 251-2274).

This team provides the Youth Ministry with creative environments through leading music as well as running sound, lights, and screens for the Youth Ministry.  The team will work on a rotation or as needs become available.  For questions, contact Ryan McGee.

Adult volunteers are adult leaders who volunteer with students 6th-12th grade.   On Sunday mornings, there is a need for adults to help with Jr. High students from 9:30-10:30.  All ages of adults are welcome, from college-age and up.  Adults will facilitate breakout groups of 8-10 students for a time of casual discussion around a specific topic.  All materials provided.  Contact Kevin Davis at 317.846.3404 x326 or davisk@stlukesumc.com.

The members of Children's Commission are the lay leaders of the Children's Ministry. They work to create vision for children and families at St. Luke's. They typically meet the 4th Tuesday of the month. For more information, please contact Shannon Kellogg at scurtiskellogg@yahoo.com.

Assist AV personnel with the audio visual presentations on Sunday mornings and for other special events. Contact Jason.

Host the Sunday morning coffee and doughnut time.  Help with serving, hospitality, setup and cleanup.  Contact Adra.

Arrange a flower bouquet for the altar table one Sunday a month.  Contact Adra.

Upkeep one section of the pews each week (stocking forms, arranging, etc).  Contact Adra.

Help the receptionist in the office a half day a week.  Primarily answering phones, directing visitors and assisting visitors with questions. Contact Adra.
