Children’s Ministries

Helping kids discover God's love, celebrating families, living out the teachings of Jesus and sharing God's love with others
Welcome!
Welcome to The Track! The Track is the children's ministry area at St. Luke's UMC. We call it The Track because we hope to travel with your family throughout their spiritual journey. We believe that children’s ministry is more than just sharing God’s story -- it is also giving parents the necessary tools to be the spiritual leaders in their home. Instead of the church doing one thing and parents doing the other, we strive to work with parents so that we are all playing on the same team and children are hearing one message.
When the preschool (Mini-Track) enter elementary, we hope they will know these things to be true: God loves me, God made me and Jesus is my friend forever. Likewise, we hope that the elementary kids will learn these three key teachings before they leave for junior high: I can trust God no matter what, I need to make the wise choice and I need to treat others the way I want to be treated.
We look forward to you taking this journey with us in The Track! Visit our Sunday Morning page for all the information on Worship and Small Group opportunities for children.
Many volunteer opportunities are available for parents and interested, fun-loving adults. See the Volunteer Opportunities page for details or register now to be a Sunday morning caregiver or small group leader.
Don't forget to check out our Family Fuel blog: Fuel 2 Go. If you have young children and are trying to balance work, family, and church and struggle with keeping God in the center of it all, our hope is that you’ll find some encouragement in these thoughts. Read the reflections and subscribe to receive email or RSS updates so you'll automatically be notified when a new thought has been posted.
Safety First
Your child's safety is our concern too. Children 11 years of age and under are in the safest environment at St. Luke's by (1) being with their parent or an adult, and (2) being in a volunteer or paid staffed classroom or child care room. To facilitate our child safety program, families in the infant, toddler and beginner area have a pager system. Your cooperation in dropping off and picking up your children personally is appreciated by the teachers, staff and your children!
For more information, please look through the rest of this site and feel free to call the St. Luke's office at 846-3404. You can also view our Safety Policies online.
Family Fellowship Night
The third Sunday of every month is hereby decreed Family Fellowship Night at St. Luke’s! Join other families of our church at 5PM for a pizza dinner, followed by “Mission Possible Kids” for elementary-aged children, and parenting study groups for adults (childcare will be provided for children aged kindergarten and under). Come connect with other families and take time with other parents to reflect on the challenges and joys of parenthood.
