Children’s Music

More than 100 children participate in St. Luke's Children's Music program. With a mission "enriching young lives through the sharing of sacred music, hymns and spiritual songs, while also teaching musicianship," the children's music program is involved in many activities, including the annual Christmas Concerts, Christmas Eve service, and worship services. Members of the children's choirs participate in the Sunday morning worship at St. Luke's, and each year they share Christmas carols at retirement homes and sing and ring in many Outreach events.

Genesis

Ages: 3 1/2 to 5 year old (must be 3 1/2 by 9/1/11)

Movement and music activities including ringing bells, playing rhythm instruments and singing sacred songs.

Elementary Music

Ages: Grades K-5
Director: Debra Nethercott
Rehearsal Times: Sundays, 10:25-11:15AM (begins 8/21/11)
Activities of this group include singing, movement and an instrumental program: Orff instruments and choir chimes.  Elementary Music rehearsals will not interfere with Family Fuel, which will meet one Sunday each month.  Elementary Music will sing in Family Fuel on these Sundays:  8/28, 10/2, 11/6, 12/4.

Crescendo!

Ages: Grades 6-8 (interested high school students, contact Miss Deb)

An outstanding group of youth singers who participate regularly in worship services in the Sanctuary.

The Choristers

Ages: Grades 3-8 (interested high school students, contact Miss Deb)

A select group of treble voices.  By audition only.  Contact Miss Deb for more information.

High School Singers

Any high school student is welcome to register for this group of singers who will perform occasionally in services and at concerts including the St. Luke's Christmas Concert. Please complete a registration form if you are interested in receiving information concerning singing opportunities.

Voice for Life

Rehearses:Tuesdays, 6-6:30PM (begins 8/23/11)
A program for music theory, ear training, music history, church history and overall musician training. Participants can earn RSCM ribbons and medals. Open to any singer participating in Crescendo! or The Choristers.

Handbell Choir

This group is open to children and youth grades 3–8. Members will learn the basic fundamentals of English handbell ringing along with note and rhythm reading.
