Rebuilding Haiti
Building the Future One Day at a Time
.jpg)
Beginning with the safe return of the St. Luke's and Milroy UMC Haiti mission team that was in Haiti when the earthquake hit on January 12, 2010, the work began of helping to reconstruct buildings and lives. Since that time, several mission teams have traveled to Haiti to assist with the rebuilding. The people of St. Luke's have been incredibly generous with their prayers and gifts. Our friends in Haiti will need our support for many years to come.
This page contains links to many updates about our Haitian partnerships. If you would like information on the work being done at the school and orphanage in Fondwa, contact Rev. David Williamson or Rev. Jamalyn Peigh Williamson. For information on the Haitian Medical Academy and St. Luke's Clinic, read the most recent Hearts and Hope for Haiti newsletter, or contact Jan Nichols.
What can we do to help?

Articles about Haiti have been written for the April-June 2010, July-September 2010, October-December 2010, January-March 2011 and April-June 2011 issues of St. Luke's T.I.M.E. magazine.
Rev. David Williamson has written a reflection about the construction that has begun in Fondwa. On July 18, 2010, Rev. Jamalyn Peigh Williamson preached at St. Luke's about her return trip to Haiti after experiencing the earthquake there. Read or watch her sermon here. Or check out the blog entry from Paul Massengill, a campus pastor from Florida, who was part of a work team in the spring of 2010.
