    Creation Care (including E-Waste)

St. Luke’s UMC Creation Care Ministry’s mission is to celebrate and care for God’s creation.

Anything with a cord (e-waste) can be delivered to the west end of the beige construction trailer in the back parking lot to be safely recycled.  Be prepared to donate $10 for every CRT to cover the cost to St. Luke's.

Eskenazi Health Pharmacy locations collect dangerous unwanted medications

Do you have prescription or over-the-counter medications that are expired or that you just don’t need anymore? Pharmacies at 10 Eskenazi Health sites can now accept unwanted prescription drugs through a partnership with the Yellow Jug Old Drugs Program and the Indiana Prescription Drug Abuse Task Force.

Yellow Jug Old Drugs is a free program that collects and properly disposes of unwanted/unused drugs in a safe and approved manner to help keep our community’s water clean.   More

    Interfaith Relationships

The Interfaith Relationships Committee exists to create harmony and fellowship with theologically diverse neighbors in order to speak to the problems of our city and world.

    Compassionate Indy

Compassionate Indy is a new initiative with a mission to empower all people to practice kindness while actively seeking to alleviate suffering.  Compassionate Indy has recently been accepted by the Charter for Compassion as a participating community in this growing global movement.

With a foundation of strong interfaith community support, a diverse group of individuals formed in the Fall of 2015 to work towards a more compassionate community. St. Luke's is a member of this group. Our first project was by invitation from the Indiana Buddhist Center to join with them and the Center for Interfaith Cooperation to plan for a visit in Indianapolis by His Holiness the Dalai Lama on June 25, 2016.

Our areas of concentration, based on a 700 person survey, are violence, poverty, and education.  We have a strong interest in meditation as a way to respond to these issues.
