Upcoming Special Worship Services

Africa University Choir

St. Luke’s will welcome the Africa University Choir to worship on Sunday, June 9 at all three morning services.  St. Luke's has a long history of supporting Africa University. Ten years ago, St. Luke’s funded a dormitory on their campus, and St. Luke's continues to be the greatest giving congregation in Indiana to the University. We are excited to have the choir join us for worship, featuring students from various African countries.

The choir’s repertoire will be presented in more than 18 languages, including English, French, Portuguese, Swahili (East and Central Africa); Shona and Ndebele (Zimbabwe); Zulu (South Africa); and Lingala (Democratic Republic of Congo). The director of the Africa University Choir, Mr. Tendekai Kuture, is a distinguished Zimbabwean choral conductor. He is head of the Department of Music in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Africa University.

As part of their U.S. tour, the choir is serving as ambassadors for the University as they lay the foundation for a successful campaign to raise funds to endow a faculty chair in Agriculture, and to endow several student scholarships. On June 9, we will take a special offering to help achieve this goal. We look forward to a blessed morning of worship with the Africa University Choir.
