You can see the new mural by artist Amiah Mims on the side of the Recorder’s building. This mural was unveiled on November 2 and honors the 125 years of African-American publishing in Indianapolis.
The Indianapolis Recorder is one of the top African-American publications in the nation. Founded in 1897, a subscription costs as little as $8/month and is a great way to dig deeper into the issues and events of importance to our Black community. Subscribe to the publication and commit an hour a week to reading articles about Black business leaders and health providers, updates on Black-owned restaurants and retail stores, community events, neighborhood meetings and more.

- MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD ABOUT PLANS FOR INDIANA AVENUE
Indiana Landmarks has proposed “Reclaim Indiana Avenue.” This plan preserves African American history in Indianapolis. Take a look at the Reclaim Indiana Ave. website and then email Vop Osilli, President of the City/County Council and Jeff Bennett, Deputy Mayor of Community Development, City of Indianapolis in support of the alternative development being proposed for Indiana Ave.
