  1. VISIT BASEBALL PLAYER OSCAR CHARLESTON’S GRAVE | Floral Park Cemetery, 3659 Cossell Rd, Indianapolis 46222, 317-241-9311

    Oscar Charleston has been recognized as the 4th greatest baseball player of all time. He played/managed in the Negro League from 1915-1954 when he died. He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1976. Grave location here. 

  2. BLACK LIVES MATTER MURALS DISPLAYED AT MARION COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY | Central Library, 40 E. St. Clair St, Indianapolis, parking garage off of Pennsylvania.

    On display now thru Jan 20. To check out a 3 by 5 ft banner (replica of original work), search for “racial justice murals” in the indypl.org catalog and request pickup at any of the library’s 23 locations.

    Local artists of color were commissioned to create the murals in June, originally creating the artwork on the wood that was used to cover downtown windows amid protests of the police-involved killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor & Dreasjon Reed.
