Leaving a Legacy

November 24, 2023 • Rev. Rob Fuquay

Did you know St. Luke’s has a gift planning website? You can access it at stlukeslegacy.com. This is the result of work done by Rev. David Heetland, senior vice president for Planned Giving at Garrett Seminary. David and his wife Kathy moved to Westfield about 18 months ago and connected to St. Luke’s. David is working part time with the church to lead us in developing our own planned giving program.

This is a dream coming together for me as I have wanted to see us build our endowment and awareness for ways that St. Lukers can help provide for the church of the future. This gift planning website is a wonderful resource highlighting legacy giving. It includes helpful information on estate planning and how to prepare for the future and what we want to leave behind.

But perhaps best of all are the “donor stories.” You can read the stories of St. Luke’s members sharing why and how they got involved at St. Luke’s and why it is important to them to support this great church in the years ahead. Click on the Legacy Society button to see the growing list of people who have already included St. Luke’s in their estate plans and how you too can become a member of St. Luke’s Legacy Society. If you would like to get more information on estate planning, or have questions regarding wills and future planning, David would love to talk with you. You can email him at David.Heetland@gmail.com.

Thank you again for the many, many ways you support our church. Our current stewardship campaign is already over the half-way point just ten days in! Your gifts make an extraordinary difference in helping our church help others to find and give hope through Jesus Christ. Thanks for giving back to the God who gives so generously to us, especially through the gift of His son, whose birth we prepare again to celebrate.

I won’t see you Sunday, but I’ll be worshipping with you and look forward to seeing you at the concerts next weekend.
