“Even there Your hand will lead me, And Your right hand will lay hold of me.” Psalm 139:10
This is a great Father’s Day story from Guidepost by Buddy Valastro, the star of TV’s Cake Boss. (This story really gets me as I am the same age his father was when he died). I hope you enjoy…
I realize thinking of God as a father is not helpful to everyone, and certainly God is beyond gender, but in the best of senses God is like a father who holds us to give confidence and peace, and God is also one who trains our hands to do his work. Sometimes we need to hold onto the thought that no matter where we are and what is happening to us, we are in God’s strong hands. And other times we need to be challenged by the thought, that like clay in the potter’s hands, God is always at work shaping and forming us to be vessels for His use.
Happy Father’s Day!
