September 6-27: Healing the Heart of Democracy. As author Parker Palmer says, "Despite our sharp disagreements on the nature of the American dream, many of us on the left, on the right and in the center have at least this much in common: a shared experience of heartbreak about the condition of our culture, our society, our body politic." This course is about what we can do to resist division among ourselves.

October 4-25: God's Echo. Languages and civilizations' living experiences are never static; they constantly change. How, then can we more fully understand the subtle nuances of ancient writings today? Author Rabbi Sandy Sasso helps us understand how the midrash literature originated and how it is used today. She also offers new translations and interpretations of more than 20 midrash texts.
