Health Ministries

The Health Ministries programs at St. Luke's seek to encourage individuals to care for themselves and others and "encourages health of the spirit, mind and body through promotion of knowledge and positive choices."

St. Luke's Health Ministries presents seminars covering a wide range of health topics, talks by health professionals, as well as simple preventative measures such as blood pressure and hearing screenings.

Parish Nurses

St. Luke's is blessed with parish nurses, all focused on health promotion and disease prevention. They come from different specialty backgrounds, and work with the Health Ministry team to arrange health-related programs, speakers, classes and flu shot clinics. They can be reached by calling the church at 846-3404 to leave a message.

Volunteer Opportunities

If you’re an RN looking for an easy way to give back to the community, join our rotation for once-a-month BP screenings.  Volunteer 3-4 times a year and meet some wonderful people!  Consider taking part in health ministry emails for input in creating a community of healing individuals empowered to take care of themselves.  We are health professionals, caregivers, and care receivers concerned about health and committed to seeing the healing ministry of the church carried out.  We meet in person three times a year for great food and fellowship.  Questions?  Contact Natalie Manges at nmanges@iquest.net.

Health and Wellness Opportunities

Free Monthly Blood Pressure Checks

Stop by C110 the 2nd Sunday of every month (except May) from 9-11AM for a free blood pressure check. Remember to refrain from drinking caffeine or smoking at least 30 minutes prior to your check.

Quarterly Blood Drives

St. Luke's sponsors quarterly blood drives at the church the third Sunday of January, April, July & October during the morning worship services.  You can drop in at any time during the blood drive hours to donate, or you can go to www.donorpoint.org three weeks prior to each blood drive date to reserve an appointment time.  In addition to saving lives, you can also earn points and rewards from the Indiana Blood Center for your donations.  Help St. Luke's in this effort to continue to provide a safe and clean blood supply.
