Foodways Festival is on the front lawn of the Home with Black-owned food trucks, restaurants & caterers. The festival honors Laura "Dolly" Johnson, a formerly enslaved person from Kentucky who became head chef for President Benjamin Harrison's White House in December 1889.

The 21st annual Independent Music + Art Festival is a day-long outdoor festival featuring local musicians, visual artists, and other "independents who perform original live music and create original work. Bands will perform on two stages in conjunction with the INDIEana Handicraft Exchange, a DIY contemporary craft fair. This year, the Handicraft Exchange's 100+ vendors will expand to the Harrison Center's new rooftop deck!
