The sun is shining, spring is here (hopefully), and this time of year is full of promises. Promises of new life, promises of growth, promises of the warm comfort of sunshine. I heard a phrase recently that has stuck with me, and it feels especially key as we are heading to VBS...a place and space where kids hear of a God who created and loves them, some of them, for the very first time. It's this: There is no such thing as other people's children. These are our children because we get to play a role in their life. Our children because they need our voices. Our children because we take baptismal vows to show up and teach these little ones the truths about God. Our children need you in their lives. VBS and Sunday mornings are two ways you get to do that. Because, after all, there is no such thing as other people's children.
