Monthly Serving Opportunities

Discover the joy of serving! At St. Luke's, we believe that faith in action transforms lives. We've put together some amazing and easy ways to try different serving opportunities this fall and winter, and our hope is that every St. Luke's person can serve in some way this season. Connect with others, grow in your faith, and experience the fulfillment of serving alongside fellow believers. Let's build a brighter future together!

Click below to fill out our interest form and we will contact you as the opportunities open and registrations are ready!

United Women in Faith

United Women in Faith has a long history in activism. In fact, the organization's roots began in 1869 when a group of 8 women, led by the wives of missionaries, felt called to raise funds to help women and children in India. They have gone through several name changes over the years, but their mission remains the same: "(To) connect and nurture women through Christian spiritual formation, leadership development, creative fellowship, and education so that they can inspire, influence and impact local and global communities."

The St. Luke's chapter of UWF is living in to this mission right here in our church community. They are sponsoring 2 classes this fall: In September, Soul Care: Experiencing Health & Wellness will begin with the goal to promote self-care and wellbeing. And in October, there will be a class on Climate Justice (more information coming soon!).

Their biannual fundraiser, the UWF Rummage Sale, is also coming up in September! By donating items to this event, volunteering to work a shift, or just coming to shop, you will be supporting the great work that UWF does all year long!

If you have any questions at all about United Women in Faith or any of their upcoming events, or want to get involved, please contact Judy Jenkins at jjenkinsnc@att.net.

Hub for Hope | Diaper Pantry

We want to take a moment to say THANK YOU for all of your support of the Hub for Hope Diaper Pantry during our fundraiser earlier this year. Together we raised $85,000! It is such a huge accomplishment and we want to celebrate the way that our church community came together to make this possible.

Your effort and support of this initiative is especially appreciated as diaper need continues to grow in our community. In the last 18 months, we have had over 200 unique clients at our diaper distributions and over 55% have returned to distributions 2 or more times. We are also distributing diapers through other channels in our community including Crooked Creek Food Pantry and Nora Food Pantry. We have distributed a total of well over 5000 bundles and counting!

We will need your continued support as we continue to grow this ministry. There are 2 main areas where you can plug-in and get involved:

  • Sign up for a shift at the diaper pantry or donate food items! We need people to volunteer during our distributions on the first Tuesday and the third Saturday of each month. Tasks include inventory management and welcoming and meeting with clients. During distributions we also have light snacks available for clients to enjoy which is made possible by your generous donations. You can find information on both of these needs on our sign up genius HERE.
  • Become a monthly donor to the diaper pantry! Following the diaper drive earlier this year, we discovered that we currently have 37 monthly donors! These monthly donations range from $8-$100 for a total of $1000/month! This means that we are supporting an additional 10 babies every single month. If you would like to help contribute to these monthly donations, you can set up a recurring donation HERE.

Again, thank you for your continued support of the Hub for Hope Diaper Pantry. You are making a very real difference in the lives of our neighbors.
